Romania’s youth team played two international tournaments recently: Carpati Trophy, where they won against Macedonia and GarciCup in Portugal where they beat the host team. Now, they are preparing for the tournament in Croatia, their first European Championship. The team will put all their faith in three key players: Tudor Bugulet (right wing), Elod Szasz (pivot) and Mark Bodor (left back).
Left-back Mark Bodor hopes that team will give their best: “With the team, I hope to get the best results on this EURO and, at the end of the championship, to be satisfied that we played at our maximal potential!”
Lorant Sipos, the assistant coach hopes Romania can be the surprise of their first championship: “We are the outsiders of this group and we hope we can surprise everyone, we believe in an outsider’s chance. For everybody is the first EURO and we hope that finally finish in one position that gives us the right to go to the World Championship. The team worked a lot and deserves one place in World Championship. Will play every game as a final.”
