Meet the teams: Group B – France

The French squad won the last two editions of the competition. Four years ago in Poland France won its first EHF M18 EURO with 1996-97 born. Then the team coached by Eric Quintin won the last edition in Croatia with the 1998-99 born. France also won the last 2 editions of the IHF M18 World championships.

“I think we have a lot of good players and not a major one yet! This championship can help one of them to become a key player. It’s not original but sure that a goalkeeper, a playmaker and a pivot will have extra responsibilities without knowing their name”, said head coach Eric Quintin.

About this new generation and the competition coming in August, he added: “The squad is different compared to the last seasons. We could be less talented so we will play with our tactical culture and with a fighting spirit because the boys show a great enthusiasm and a desire to do well. When you have won the last 4 M18 international competitions (EHF and IHF), you must stay humble and curious. Then the staff has to be ready to manage a lot of duties and to work with pressure.”
