Germany win against Spain in a tight race

Third match of the day in Varaždin Arena was played between Germany and Spain.

In the first half of the match Germany took the lead but Spain followed almost goal by goal. The game was very close in score but Germany took the points in this first match of the third preliminary round of the Group C.

Best German player was Merlin Fuss while Juri Knorr and Jaris Tobeler were their top scorers with five goals each.

Mamadou Diocou was named the best Spanish player and at the same time he was also Spain’s top scorer and the top scorer of the match with sever scored goals.

“Main reason of our win is good defense and easy goals from counter attacks. Our concentration was at high level through the game and we are ready for second round” said Germany’s best player of the match, Merlin Fuss.

“It was a match with a lot of technical faults , but it is because both teams played very good defense. The key moment was changing to 7 in attack in the second half. It was a lucky, but deserved victory, and we are preparing for the next round”  said Germany’s coach, Wudtke Erik. 
“We had too many errors in the game – lost balls, bad fouls, pressure was big and my team couldn’t deal with it” noticed Spanish coach, Suarez Menendez Alberto.
Diocou Soumare Mamadou, best Spanish player of the match mentioned some mistakes in the game: “Team was good in defense, but in the attack we couldn’t find the answer for their great defense”
